Phone number: The phone number is used as a direct line of communication between Fodoq and the user for any urgent matters related to the order. It may also be used for account verification during the sign-up process.

Address: The user’s address is crucial for delivery purposes. It helps the delivery agents to deliver the orders to the correct location. It’s also used to show the user the restaurants that deliver to their location.

Location data: The location data is used to provide a better user experience by showing the user the restaurants near their current location, providing real-time tracking of their order, and ensuring timely delivery.

When a restaurant signs up, we request them to share below details in order to seamlessly offer our food delivery solution. We collect the following personal information from each of the signed-up restaurants seeking food delivery online.Name: The name of the restaurant is used to identify the restaurant on the Fodoq platform. It helps customers to search for and recognize the restaurant when placing an order.

Email: The email address is used for communication purposes. Fodoq may send important notifications, updates, and promotional offers to this email. It’s also used for account recovery purposes.

Phone number: The phone number is used as a direct line of communication between Fodoq and the restaurant for any urgent matters. It may also be used for account verification during the sign-up process.

Address: The address of the restaurant is crucial for delivery purposes. It helps the delivery agents to pick up the orders from the correct location. It’s also used to show customers the location of the restaurant.

Bank account details: The bank account details are used to facilitate the transfer of payments from Fodoq to the restaurant for the orders placed by customers.
Please note that all this information is collected and used with the utmost respect for privacy and confidentiality. Fodoq is committed to safeguarding the personal information of its users.

2.    This information is voluntarily provided by restaurants and is used to process your payments and send promotional offers.

Process your payments for the orders you prepare, send you promotional offers and tips on how to benefit from the platform

We value our restaurants’ privacy and do not share your information with anyone, under any circumstances.

We keep the saved information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law. However, a signed up restaurant has all the right to delete their account which will be permanently deleted from our user base. If a restaurant wants to delete their account, they can do so from their admin panel in a click.

7.  Access to Photos and Media

  • Fodoq leverages Android Photo Picker feature allowing users to securely select specific video or image without granting access to entire device media library.
     

  8. Notifications and Foreground Services

  • Order Notifications: Our restaurant app uses foreground services to deliver full-screen ringing alerts when a new customer order is placed. This ensures that restaurants do not miss urgent orders. These notifications appear similar to an incoming call screen, and they are only triggered by new order events.

  • Data Sync: Foreground services are also used to sync order details securely in real time between the server and the restaurant app.

  • Remote Messaging: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver real-time order updates.

  • Media Playback: A ringing alert sound is played until the order is acknowledged.

 

   9. Data Safety

  • We do not access, collect, or share your personal media files without your explicit action.

  • All permissions requested by the app are necessary for providing core features such as receiving orders, managing profiles, and uploading content.

  • You may revoke access anytime through your device settings.

  • Access of location data for Delivery Agents

To provide seamless order management and accurate delivery services, the Delivery Boy app collects and processes location information from delivery agents.

Purpose of collection:

  • To determine the delivery agent’s real-time position during an active delivery.
  • To calculate the precise distance between the delivery agent, the restaurant, and the customer’s delivery address.
  • To provide real-time tracking updates to customers and restaurants for a transparent delivery experience.
  • To ensure accurate route navigation and estimated delivery times.

Type of data collected:

  • GPS-based location data while the app is in use.
  • Location data in the background during active deliveries to maintain accurate tracking and distance calculation, even if the phone screen is off or the app is minimized.

How the data is used:

  • Location is shared only with the customer and restaurant associated with the active delivery.
  • Data is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Historical location is not stored once the delivery is completed, except where required for order records or legal obligations.

Agent control:

  • Delivery agents may disable location services at any time, but doing so will prevent them from accepting or completing deliveries.
  • Agents may request deletion of their account and associated data at any time through the app.
